How to Order Certificates (For Current Student)

When you order Certificates, please show your identity verification document (ex. Student ID Card).

Certificates issued by SOKENDAI

SOKENDAI issues Certificates listed in the table below. If any other certificate is required, please contact the section given at the bottom of this page and inquire if the intended certificate can be issued.

Certificate of Enrollment
(Zaigaku-Shomeisho)		 ○ ○ Certifies that the applicant is enrolled in SOKENDAI. *For currently enrolled, regular students.

Certificate of Registration

(Zaiseki-Shomeisho)		 〇 〇 Certifies that the applicant is registered as a student, but currently taking a leave of absence. *For regular students on leave of absence.
Certificate of Enrollment Period
(Zaiseki-Kikan-Shomeisho)		 ○ ○ Certifies the applicant's enrolled period at SOKENDAI. *For non-regular students such as Research Student.
Academic Transcript
(Seiseki-Shomeisho)		 ○ ○ Certifies the applicant's academic record for the courses completed at SOKENDAI.

Certificate of Expected Graduation
(Shuryo-Mikomi-Shomeisho)

 〇 〇

Certifies that the applicant will complete a doctoral program at SOKENDAI, and be conferred a doctoral degree.

*To issue one, the following requirements must be met:
1. Expecting to complete the doctoral program within 1 year, and
2. Having enrolled in SOKENDAI for 4 years or more (5-year doctoral program) or 2 years or more (3-year doctoral program) *excluding a period of absence, and

3. Expecting to earn the required number of credits by the date of expected graduation.
Certificate of Expected Conferment of a Master's Degree
(Shushi-Gakui-Shutoku-Mikomi-Shomeisho)		 ○ ○

Certificates that the applicant expects to be conferred a master's degree.

*Some conditions will be applied for issuance. For details, please contact the Educational Affairs Section in Hayama.

Certificate of Qualification for a Master's Degree

(Shushi-Gakui-Shikakusha-Shomeisho)		 〇 〇

Certifies that the applicant has the Qualification for a Master's Degree.

*Issued only to those who have enrolled at least 2 years in the 5-year doctoral program and passed the required examination.
Certificate of Health Examination
(Kenko-Shindan-Shomeisho)		 ○ ○

Certifies the result of the applicant's regular health examination.

*The English certificate requires longer time for issuance. Please submit your request well in advance.

Commuter Pass Certificate

(Tsugaku-Shomeisho)		 ○ ×

Issued to those who purchase a Student Commuter Pass for Trainee to commute for a long period of time to a location other than your own campus for attending courses, conducting research activities, and so forth. *For regular students only.

*Please apply well in advance. About three weeks are needed for issuance.
Certificate for Student Discount Ticket
(Gakuwarisho)		 ○ ×

Issued to those who purchase tickets with a student discount.

*You can purchase discounted student tickets for your trip exceeding 100 kilometers one way by Japan Railway (JR) lines. *For regular students only.
Certificate of Japanese Government Scholarship Student 〇 〇

Certifies that the applicant is a Japanese Government Scholarship student. *For the recipients of the said scholarship only.
Certificate of Receiving Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students 〇 〇

Certifies that the applicant receives the Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students. *For the recipients of the said scholarship only.

How to apply for Certificates

*Suitable documents for "Identity verification document" described below include Student ID Card, Health Insurance Card, Driver's License, Individual Number Card, Residence Card, and Passport, which state the name, date of birth, and address of the applicant with an identification number.

Educational Affairs Section (Hayama) will, in principle, send the issued certificates to the Program Office within about 3 business days of receipt of the application from the Program Office.

*Students of School of Advanced Sciences and Program of Integrative Evolutionary Science shall submit the form to Educational Affairs Section in Hayama Headquaters.

Certificate of Japanese Government Scholarship Student

 Student Affairs Section (Hayama) Please fill in Application Form for Certificates and submit it to your Program Office. Please make your identity verification document available.

Student Affairs Section (Hayama) will, in principle, send the issued certificates to the Program Office within about 3 business days of receipt of the application from the Program Office.
